Coming to Kajabi, in my experience, I’ll declare it as an all-in-one, self-sustained, and powerful online course cum marketing arena.

On the other hand, when you’re supposed to start from scratch in Podia, Kajabi offers you pre-made and extensively customizable templates.

Hence, as far as course features are concerned, declaring one as the winner will be solely dependent on your preferences and business requirements.  

2. Video Hosting

Podia

It’s really difficult for my students to digest the course content in the absence of eye-catching and interactive videos. Hence, I attribute a considerable priority to this feature. 

Podia allows you to upload unlimited videos without a file size limit. However, it’s recommended to keep the file size below 1GB. 

Moreover, Podia lacks certain sophisticated video player features like quality adjustment, etc.

Kajabi

Kajabi uses Wistia for video hosting. As far as I’ve used it, it comes with an admirable streaming quality. You can host unlimited videos but you’ve to adhere to the size ceiling of 4GB. 

Kajabi video player offers your members an automatic quality adjustment feature where the video quality will be automatically adjusted in sync with the internet speed of your users that will ultimately result in hassle-free and uninterrupted playback. 

Verdict

Both Kajabi and Podia allow you to host unlimited videos but in my opinion, Kajabi holds all the cards when it comes to more refined playback features like an automatic quality adjustment that will offer your customers a hassle-free video experience. 

I get frustrated when I see my videos endlessly loading and breaking at intervals and so, I’d recommend you Kajabi if you’re planning to create a course content focusing more on video files. 

3. Member/Student Progress

Podia

As far as I remember using my Podia dashboard, you’ll be able to view individual student progress in terms of videos watched, course completed, completed quizzes, etc. by clicking the customer profile. 

However, Podia tracks the progress of your customer only when they watch a video, attempt a quiz, or complete the course. You cannot track partially completed contents, half-watched videos, and quizzes left in the middle. 

Moreover, Podia doesn’t offer you a complete data analysis of the same and you’ve to sit for hours analyzing individual student performances that’ll drive you nuts in the end. 

Kajabi

Coming to Kajabi will provide you with an easily comprehensible, eye-catching, and well-arranged progress report of all your students as a whole. You can also check the individual performances through your dashboard. 

Kajabi with its ever-so-powerful analytics tool tracks lesson progress and video progress and provides you Kajabi overview reports that clearly states student progress in terms of completed contents, partially completed contents, and incomplete contents. 

Moreover, the feature I liked the most is student segmenting. You’ll be able to track the inactive students and analyze the reasons for the same- it may be because of your complex content, lack of interactiveness, or anything else.

This will serve as your progress report and you’ll be able to identify and settle such discrepancies with immediate effect.

Verdict

When it comes to effectively tracking and powerfully analyzing the progress of your members, I’d say that Kajabi has an upper hand over Podia.

While it offers you precise, up to date overview reports of student’s progress, Kajabi converts it to an analysis of your performance. 

4. Assessments/ Surveys/ Quizzes

Podia

While I was using Podia, it frustrated me that I could assess my students only through multiple-choice questions.

However, one of my friends was happy about this feature as his course was designed in such a way that only multiple-choice questions will suit it.

It simply means that this feature is a boon for some and bane for others and it solely depends on your course structure.

Moreover, your students will be able to view their score before proceeding to the next section and you, in the capacity of an admin, can view the performance of each student through your dashboard.

However, you’ll be able to see only completed/incomplete quizzes and not partially completed or opened but incomplete quizzes. 

One of the major drawbacks of this feature is as I had mentioned earlier, you cannot assess your students through a short-answer or paragraph type question.

In addition to that, your students won’t be able to upload their assignments or submit any link/file as an answer. 

Kajabi

When I shifted to Kajabi I found that Kajbi will let you assess your students via a variety of options like:

• Multiple-Choice type questions
• Multiple-option type questions
• Checkboxes
• Fill in the blanks type questions
• Paragraph/Short-answer type questions
• Images, etc.

You will be able to provide long answer/essay-type or research-based assignments to your students and they can submit their work in the form of PDF, Word document, Excel sheet, image, audio, video, links, or any other format. 

You’re also enabled to set up a custom grade requirement to proceed to the next session or to continue the course.

However, if you aren’t interested in the same, you can set the grade flooring to 0 and your students will be able to continue irrespective of the marks they score. 

With powerful email integrations, Kajabi automatically sends the test result to your students via their mail and you can also set custom email notifications for your students that will notify them of their assigned works and deadlines. 

You can add a personalized survey sheet anywhere on your site- i.e. on the product page, sales page, thank you page, course page, or quiz page so that your clients can offer you valuable feedback based on which you can make timely modifications in your content. 

Verdict

When it comes to assignments, quizzes, and surveys; I’d like to declare Kajabi as the winner. The ability to assess students via different question formats and email notifications makes Kajabi a cut above Podia.

Coming to product themes, I’ll say that Podia themes are oversimplified. It will offer you only three default themes- i.e. normal, light, and dark with limited or no possible customization.

I’m a liberalist and I cannot afford to compromise freedom for anything else. Here, you’re deprived of your freedom of customization. 

Moreover, you’ll be able to make only very basic and extremely fundamental alterations to the main theme. Some of the alterable domains are:

Well, Podia requires you to start from scratch and you don’t have pre-designed templates and that’s gonna eat up hours of your valuable time. As mentioned above, your theme choice is limited as you’ve to choose from Simple/Normal, Light, and Dark. 

Above all, you are supposed to choose pre-designed blocks to add to your website like:

The greatest demerit of this feature is that you won’t be able to add your blocks to your website. Again, it frustrates my liberalist soul.

After hours of taxing hard work if you manage to create a landing page, you’ll be disappointed to find it to be similar in design and structure to your home page. Moreover, Podia doesn’t offer you any templates or designs for building your landing pages. 

Kajabi

Coming to Kajabi, it offers you about 20+ eye-catching and customizable landing page templates. Its sophisticated landing page builder will enhance your conversion rates and ROI.

Being pre-designed, you’ll be able to create an adorable, impressive, and alluring landing page with the least effort from your side. 

Verdict

Declaring Kajabi as the winner when it comes to landing pages doesn’t even require a second thought for me. Podia even fails to differentiate its website builder from the landing page builder.

Fully customizable landing page templates and a sophisticated landing page builder makes Kajabi a much better choice.

As far as I’ve used it, the in-built email marketing feature of Podia has only very basic capabilities. It lacks a sturdy email management system and you cannot set automation rules for email marketing. In my experience, you’ll be able to perform only two basic tasks:

• Trigger a basic marketing campaign

However, you’ll be able to segment your members based on:

• Pre-launch signup
• Course/Product purchase
• Subscription, etc.

Kajabi

When it comes to Kajabi, in my experience, it’s well-built with much more refined email marketing features. With 15+ fully customizable templates, it offers you seamless and powerful analytics that will keep you abreast of:
